Imec’s cutting‑edge hyperspectral imaging sensor has successfully launched aboard the IPERLITE Earth observation satellite, a mission realized in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), VITO, Aerospacelab, and AMOS.

This joint effort demonstrates a breakthrough in instrument miniaturization for small satellites with compact sensor technology, delivering unprecedented spectral detail from space.

By combining imec’s miniaturized sensor expertise with Aerospacelab’s satellite platform, VITO’s remote sensing leadership, ESA’s support, and AMOS’s optical engineering, the mission opens new horizons for agriculture, climate monitoring, and environmental management.

Together, these partners showcase how European innovation can transform Earth observation into a more accessible, scalable, and impactful tool for science and industry.
