IC-Link’s role in Celestial AI’s journey
Celestial AI, now part of Marvell Technology, made an extraordinary journey from concept to unicorn. Its breakthrough idea was to use light to create ultra‑fast, energy‑efficient data links between AI accelerators and memory, removing a fundamental performance bottleneck.
Access to advanced silicon photonics was essential to turning that concept into reality. After the initial R&D phase, supported by imec, IC Link played a crucial role in enabling a seamless transition to production-ready silicon photonics processes, access to commercial foundries and further scaling support.
