Lijun Liu
dr. Lijun Liu is currently a researcher and project lead at imec. Since joining imec in early 2021 and securing an FWO Postdoctoral Fellowship in October of the same year, he has dedicated his research to the development of nanoscale CMOS-based biosensors tailored for life sciences applications. His work includes the exploration of Silicon nanowell/nanopore FETs for biomolecule detection toward the single-molecule level (IEDM 2023). Starting from 2024, he expanded his research interests to next generation bioFETs and exploratory logic devices based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs), where he plays a key role in CNT bioFET research (IEDM 2025).Lijun Liu obtained his Ph.D. (2020) and B.S. (2015) both from Peking University. During his doctoral studies, he focused on advancing exploratory FET technologies based on low-dimensional materials, including the demonstration of high-performance CNT FETs and 8 GHz ring-oscillator circuits using densely aligned CNT FETs (Science 2020). He also worked on developing TFT-based sensor interface systems applications.
