Nurturing the next generation of professionals
Imec in the Netherlands plays a vital role in addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the high-tech sector. By fostering close collaborations with educational institutions, industry partners, and research organizations, imec builds bridges between academia and industry, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in solving real-world challenges.
Over 600 students have engaged in multidisciplinary projects addressing societal issues in healthcare and agriculture through initiatives like the Open Education program, developed in partnership with 8 educational institutions and 30 organizations.
Similarly, the Workplace Vitality Hub has created a living lab in an office environment. Here, nearly 100 students from diverse disciplines, such as ICT, applied psychology, and creative design, work alongside companies to come up with solutions for physical and mental well-being.
Imec at Holst Centre and imec at OnePlanet play a role in attracting and developing talent from the Netherlands and abroad. At imec we focus on developing the next generation of experts within chip & design technology, which can be further developed within or outside imec's ecosystem.
A growing number of our employees hold part-time positions at Dutch universities such as TU Eindhoven, University of Twente and TU Delft, where they help determine the direction of research and contribute to steer the education of students and PhDs in subjects relevant to the industry.
