Peter Vandersteegen
Peter Vandersteegen is Portfolio Manager for the automotive Sector at imec where he works on the go to market plans for imec’s automotive offering.
Peter Vandersteegen holds a Master of Science in Engineering (Physics) and a Ph.D. in Engineering (Photonics) from Ghent University (Belgium). He also obtained an Executive MBA from Vlerick Business School (Belgium) with a thesis covering Real Options to valuate Semiconductor Roadmaps.
Peter began his career at ASML as Application and Business Engineer. In 2011, he joined Melexis where he worked several years in the Greater Boston Area and later as a Product Manager in Tessenderlo. Here, Peter was granted four patents related to automotive sensors. Following strategic marketing roles at ams AG and KLA, Peter joined imec in 2023.
After serving as a Business Development Manager, he was appointed Portfolio Manager in 2026. In this role, Peter applies his interest in data-driven strategy and technical analysis to manage imec’s offer portfolio in automotive.
