Lynn Verschueren received her MSc in Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanoengineering, focusing on Nanoelectronic Design, from KU Leuven, Belgium, in 2016. Since then, she has been working towards a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in imec’s Large Area Electronics department. Lynn’s doctorate studies focus on design, driving and calibration for high-resolution displays.

OLED screens have lots of advantages – such as high contrast, excellent picture quality and the ability to be shaped into large screen areas that can even be folded or rolled up. But there are still a number of teething problems with OLED applications that scientists all over the world are trying to resolve, including researchers at imec and Holst Centre. Lynn Verschueren and Pawel Malinowski tell us how two new results have dramatically improved the resolution of AMOLED displays – making them up to 10 times better, in fact!
