Hilde Jans
Hilde Jans received her PhD in Chemistry from the Catholic University of Leuven in 2010. At this moment, Hilde Jans is a Senior Researcher in the Experimental Bio-photonics team of the LSI department. Hilde’s main activity is to link the (bio-) application to the technology under development in the team. Since 2011, Hilde’s focus is on Raman spectroscopy applications as she is involved in many project, both bilateral and European projects.

Wanted: life science companies that want to try out biophotonics
Working in conjunction with 13 other European partners, imec and LioniX are building the world’s first pilot line to produce photonic circuits for bio-applications. This is all part of the PIX4life project to develop both a technology platform and supporting services for end-users. Right now, the consortium is looking for life science companies willing to test the pilot line to make their applications – such as cytometers and microscopes – more compact and less expensive.
