Dieter Hoffend is Business Director for the Automotive Sector at imec, where he leads strategic initiatives in chiplet technology and edge AI for automotive applications. Based in Munich, he joined imec in 2025, bringing over 30 years of international experience in semiconductors, automotive electronics, and business leadership.

Prior to imec, he spent most of his career at Intel Corporation, where he helped shape the company’s entry into the automotive market as part of the core team that launched its strategy in 2005. He went on to lead automotive sales in Europe and built global partnerships with leading OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers, contributing to Intel’s growth in in‑vehicle infotainment, ADAS, and autonomous driving.

Dieter is recognized for driving growth in complex technology markets and for building long‑term, executive‑level partnerships across the automotive and semiconductor ecosystem.
