An Steegen is executive vice president semiconductor technology and systems at imec. She is responsible for the research and development of state-of-the-art nanoelectronics technology, accelerating the growth of a connected and sustainable society. An Steegen is a world recognized authority in the area of nano-scaled electronics to enable system solutions for IoT infrastructure, sensors and actuators based applications. She started her career as R&D Director at IBM, New York. An Steegen has a PhD in material science from the KU Leuven and she holds more than 100 publications and patents.
