Towards maintenance that scales
Industrial sites increasingly need sensor coverage in places where wiring is impractical and battery replacement is too expensive. The system challenge is not just low power, but dependable sensing, intermittent compute, and communications that tolerate harsh environments.
This is a good fit for imec’s work on efficient edge hardware, compact radios, and sensor integration that can make predictive maintenance more continuous and less labor-intensive.
